Consumer Verification

How to Verify an Insurance License

Verification is public, free, and takes only a few minutes. We encourage every customer to do it.

  1. 1

Ask for the full legal name of the producer and their license number.

  2. 2

Visit your state department of insurance website, or use the NAIC's consumer resources to locate your state regulator.

  3. 3

Use the state's producer lookup or license verification tool to search by name or license number.

  4. 4

Confirm the license is active, the resident state matches, and the lines of authority cover the product being discussed.
